The worlds blackest brick – 2023
Found in circa 2021 on a beach walk between Walcott and Happisburgh, this brick has been painted in the worlds blackest commercially available paint.
Many areas of the East Anglian coast are being washed away leaving just hints and memories of houses left in the cliffs – sewage pipes, electrical wires and artefacts. This brick from one such home has been rounded and partially erased from years of tumbling in the North Sea.
The Musou black paint absorbs almost all light making the brick very hard to see – only its outline – just a hole of light.
